The regulation states that if USCIS requests a visa number for a "approvable" petition, they must use that up (approve the petition) within 7 days of recieving the visa number or return it back to DOS.
In this case they are obviously using the visa number beyond the 7 day deadline.
This is a clear violation again.
There are lots of thing the admin is trying to cover up, because just working over 1 weekend is not going to improve their efficieny to make 60K cases approvable overnight.

you should not have any issues. Even if you came here illegally and you get married to a citizen...you would be ok. There is no ban. Enjoy your vacation...carry your GC and thats it...you will have no issues coming back

More times than not common sense goes missing among the highly educated. The trouble is, you mix that fact with added politics, and now you have a complete and utter mess. They are dumping money in businesses without making sure of returns. This economy is not going anywhere.... they can fool trusting citizens, but not people with common sense.

A question about the State Chapter joining. Of late we are seeing less and less info on the website. Are we now moving to an "offline" model?
the state chapters are being strengthened for sure, remember we are ultimately a grassroots organization. also, in the current environment, everything cannot be posted publicly. so we would really like to see everyone involved at the local level too. i'm not saying the forum is not important or is being ignored...quite the contrary, but the grassroots effort has to be paramount if we are to succeed.

Imagine the benefits like peace of mind, better career growth, pay rise,.....
One day off from work is nothing compared to the benefits U R going to reap. A faster GC might qualify U for more vacations (if U move up the ladder in some companies). So don't whine about a day off:D
If U R from east-coast hop on the bus for a free ride... If U are from tri-state, click on my signature

I did E-File for both me and my wife on June 15. We did bio on July 12. My wife's EAD got approved on July 23.
I got RFE for missing or wrong pose for photos on August 4th. I sent photos and received on August 7th.
Still waiting.

During the medical exam, say that you had chikenpox during the childhood. If he asks further questions, tell it was around 5; my mother told me.

They have lot leverage in certifying what is needed, what is not needed. My INS doc, just wanted only 2. DTAp and MMR. The kind and nice medical staff told this over the phone. This is all we need for adults. For children , yes, entire vaccination record. You see, medically vaccinations are useless for adults, as the tissues / organ needed for generating immunity is mostly lost during growth to adolescence.(that is what vaccinations do .. these are only booster doses)

Every applicant for adjustment of status must undergo a complete medical examination by a doctor designated by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). To obtain a listing of doctors, approved by the USCIS, in your area, call 1-800-375-5283.
In accordance with the 1996 Act, all applicants for adjustment of status must prove that they have been vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases. My doctor asked me if I had chicken pox during my child hood. I said yes, so Varicella is not required.

Not true! I have S-Corporation without GC. Actually you don't need even filed GC to start S-Corp, all you need is social.
You are right, I confirmed this with IRS. Who can be more accurate than IRS :). So yes you can register S-Corp on EAD or even if you are on H1B.

Just asked the GC sponsoring employer, whats the reason to inform immigration, they said its a "procedure". I asked them to send me a copy of whatever they are sending to them, he said they dont have to. Now who knows what they send there?. They could even go and say, this guy ran away. You know.

So that only corporates could use the H1Bs and no one else. to give control of H1s to a selected few only. corporates doesn't need to worry about it and I dont think body shopping type companies are even corporates...
Infy, TCS, Wipro etc will be considered corporate by any standard.
secondly, small shops can get H1. I know off quite a few small biz doing software development with H1 workforce.... I worked in one for 5 years!

You fill out a portion of the form online. When done, it will generated a PDF with your application number on it. You have to then print it and complete the remaining pages by pen. You also need to complete a "Nationality Status Verification Form". Its on their website. :confused:

I know!! the company is 75-100 employed, I believe...How do I know if that is true OR are the company guys just bragging??!!!...I don't know!!....However, let me give them benefit of doubt to what they are saying.
You know how desi companies operate, either 'fixed' pay(which would never go up unless you call a million times) or percentage basis...if percentage basis, u take all the slack....I fall in the later category.

Hello friends - I got a email updated from CRIS today stating that my Notice is mailed welcoming the new permanent resident. The email states:
"On January 16, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register."
What does this mean? When will I get my approval of my 485 and when will I receive my physical GC?
Also I have done my FP on 31 July, 2007. Do I have to get a new FP done?
Any suggestion or feedback on my queries will be highly appreciated.
