This should be a wake up call for people who have not started their GC process yet. I know some people have 4+ years in H1 and not aware of any of these issues going on. Even I was like that until I entered my 4th year. So let your friends know that they have to start their process and have at least a PD before this bill becomes law.
How will the amnesty affect our situation. I know it will overwelm the immigration services staff but the legalized illegals are not applying for the 290K employment based visas.

Hi friends i was planning to go to toronto, CANADA this weekend for stamping my 3yr extension .My 7th yr extension is till April 16th.So after reading what chandu wrote.Can somebody please tell me is it advisable for me to go one month in advance for visa stamping as my current visa is valid for one more month.Can somebody pls help on this.I have already booked the tickets & hotel.
My employer told me, as I have a valid stamp from same company, I must wait till it is within 10 days of the stamp expiry (mine is may 29th, 2007) so I must go only 10 days before that date, but if it is a different company we can go.
Can anyone confirm what my employer said?

regarding VS 2008, and where to find some of the differences with VS 2005, specially oriented to VB.Net, since it's my main framework.
Have a look at this blog (http://www.danielmoth.com/Blog/) regarding new features included in VS 2008 and also if you do a google search you may end up many results :D
The most important difference one can tell is,
1) Inclusion for support for .NET framework 2.0,3.0,3.5. You could actually create a solution in any of these frameworks when creating a new project :)
2) Integration of Form Controls in WPF. The WPF Editor is good and also good changes in the Add Service Reference (for WCF Services and ASMX Web Services)
3) Good integrated support for LINQ (iow, C# 3.0)

I believe H1B limit was 195,000 in FY2001, FY2002 and FY2003 and this is only Cap numbers. There are H1B's exempt from the caps. As said before by others on an avg 2.5 GC's per H1B/L1. L1 has L1A and L1B which has no limits.
Then you have TN visa for Mexico and Canada.
You have to consider all those into EB GC's.

No video on the Digilux 3, Nik.....and.....it only shoots RAW + a Jpeg...or..... a jpeg only. Since I always shoot RAW, seem like a waste but the LCD can only read JPEG.

We will have lesser pain If we think as if we are living in some middle east country where no immigrant gets citizenship I believe ...they just keep issuing visa after every two years.
Thinking they will do something in favor of legal immigrants seems almost impossible in this economic situation. That too when they are not letting pass healthcare bill which possibly could be beneficial for Americans.
I have less pain now when I think I am in mid east with more freedom...I have to keep renewing EAD & any moment of time I could be denied and go back to own country..
GC wait is endless ...at least for EB3

The stuff has a tendency to look like characters or whatever taken from old computer games, quite blocky in a sense.Not quite right, Pixel art is also refered to as freestyle. Pixel art is as you mentioned a image drawn pixel by pixel. But it does not mean it has to look like a old space invaders bob/sprite.
It often has antialiasing, and different dither techniques.

I think we are going to do a good job of getting attention and generating the Interest with this rally.
In order to create 'Desire' among the general population when they see pictures of this rally, we need to streamline our message (same message delivered many times) and also generalize it more than our own plight. Our message should be around how much USA is losing in terms of innovation and competitive edge by stifling the EB GC.
We also need to give them a way to 'Act'. In order to give them a chance to support us, we need to provide them a website address that they can go to sign a petition in our favor. It should be provided in all banners etc.
Guys, it's not that difficult to get help from native US citizens. I have many friends here who are 'Americans' and fully understand the GC issue but they don't have a way to support us.
This way we(immigrants) are not alone in this struggle..We have support from a larger portion of the society..
What do you think? If you like the idea and the core team approves it then I can design a message that covers all 4 elements of AIDA...

My employer started the recruitment process and they have got 4 applications for the position advertised. Experience required was MS+0.
Does anyone know what are the effect of having 4 applicants. What is the effect of this to obtaining the labor certification. Is getting more applications a bad situation for me?

Canada and US are two different countries with two very different procedures. One GC has no bearing to another - all that matters is, which one you will be able to maintain.
It appears that you can maintain ONLY one at a time. That makes sense. Help me out - what happens if you get Canadian GC first (which is more likely ...due to retrogression, etc)? Do you have to abandon US GC process? OR could you wait until US GC process is finished and decide which one to keep?

" America is loosing jobs today by the millions, NOT because of the immigrants here, but because of the fact that America is loosing some of its competitiveness. There is nil chance that premium processing is going to open in near future. So there is 99.9999 chance that this guy will have to return back to his home country.
(a) If he does not change his employer, he will still be able to keep his green card under processing. Right?
(b) As per the law, to get new H1 this guy will have to be outside of US for a year. Right? If his green card is under processing will he be able to get a H1B sponsored from the same employer after a period of 1 year? {{ I am assuming here that his I 140 is does not get approved for next 1 year }}
(c)Another question, if I 140 gets approved in 3 months (less than a year) will he be able to come back immediately by extending his H1 (excuse my terminology if it does not make sense)
(d) Should he apply for i 140 at this stage if he is keen on coming back within a year / should he not persue the same? Does applying I 140 makes getting his H1B chances low?
This is really a complicated case and I am just wondering is there any way it can be solved (other than premium processing for I 140 option) I know that he will have to talk with his lawyer. His words "something should be there" to help case like his.

Join the company actually in 2002
There was a company change change with same dba xyz ... in year 2001,(means employer close the company and open another one with different name at same location)
Same Owner and same business location so company file two taxes for company 1 and company 2
Company 1 2001 tax return shows net income of $25,500
Company 2 2001 tax returnshows net income of $28,300
company bank account also shows over 100k in 2001
I call my attorney already and did not hear back from him yet on this issue

It asks me for the A number. Should I put in the number on the I-94 or should I put in the number for each petition.

They might have approved some applications in last week of June for which the status may change this week.(My guess, as I got approval email today inspite of all odds)
If not this month, in four months (Oct 07) when new visa number are available, your application will be one of the first ones they will look into.

It seems I missed the bus this time. Our response was received on 06/27 and then there were LUD on 06/28, 06/29, 06/30 and even today.
