My case is NSC-TSC-NSC. I-485 applied in NSC in July 07, transferred to TSC for data entry, transferred back to NSC in 2007. Card production ordered mail today.
Hang in there and open a SR if you have not done it yet. I think it helps. I opened one on 7th and got approval on 9th.

I am a surgery resident on H1B and so is my spouse.
Surgery is difficult at this stage of the game.
PhD will NOT help. Although I have a PhD its my realization that surgery program DONOT look for PhD. it sends a wrong signal many times. This may not be true in some research intensive programs. However most research intensive programs and very tough to get in. For example, UPENN, MGH, BWH.
This is not the forum to post such questions. The way to go about it is to make contacts work in surgery programs as a research fellow and slowly climb the ladder. In general they dont care musch for Indian surgical training. I went all the way there ( will not post details for personal reasons) but here I had to start from PGY1.
But like everything in life its doable. Work hard, get your PhD ( since you are already there no way out). Find a surgery program with research and get a postdoc fellow job there. Make contacts. Write papers and present work at meetings and eventually you WILL get. I got it that way and so can you.
Lastly ONCE a SURGEON ALWAYS A SURGEON. Its hard to like anything else once you choose to go down that lane. Atleast that has been my exp.
Immigration is a huge hassle. Good Programs WILL NOT sponsor visa unless they need you and invest in you.

Sorry guy... you want the benefits and privileges of US Residency/Citizenship but don't want to live up to the obligations of a US Resident or Citizen (said obligation applies to all US PR's or Citizens without discrimination). No sympathy for you there...
If what you are concerned about is living abroad, and if you are an Indian, get OCI. You'll get the same privileges as an Indian except gov't work, running for office, and some farm properties.

I beg to disagree with the argument that everybody with a 3 year degree+NIIT or other diploma's should go back to India. Everybody should have an equal shot at the GC dream. I have an engineering degree but believe education is only a building platform to start your career. Once you start working other factors like aptitude, motivation, communication and analytical skills set in which make or break your career. Consider this: some of your top notch American colleagues do even have a college degree while others have non-IT or non-computer backgrounds.
The person who created this thread just needs IV's input on the issue of 3 year degrees. If you cannot give any advice relevant to resolving his or her issue on 3 year degrees then don't post any crap.

This is scary. Not to mention that people who have passed the driving tests are good drivers.... but you are inviting lot of trouble if you issue DL with out a test. Or is it that the state of NJ cannot afford to employ officers to test?

Immigrationvoice raised the awareness about the rally and our cause through this ad in the Rollcall newspaper yesterday. Rollcall is read by staffers, lawmakers and a lot of people who deal with public policy, lobbying and politics on the hill.

The problem is not the fee but the wait of another 90 days....it was their mistake but you will suffer....if I were you, I would apply for renewal EAD but will use that one for the meantime....
If you already have SSN, there shouldn't be any problem unless your employer make a fuzz out of it...

Can somebody work on 2 H1Bs at one time.
Company A is not willing to pay due to business loss.
Company B is willing to offer full time H1B employment only if transfer, and not on contract.
So if an employee moves from company A to company B in good terms, what happens to A's H1 Visa. Can the employee go back to A in future if needed after working for B for sometime. A is holding the greencard and ofcourse 485 is pending.
Just in case the employee wants to be in A's payroll also, but not get paid. How does that work.
What is the legal way in which A's H1 is not cancelled, and one can work with B, and then go back to A after sometime on same old A's H1.
