Was your FP appointment a "Code 3"? I managed to get a infopass appointment on Nov 14th(more than 90 days from receipt date) just to be on the safe side. Lets see what happens.
I think adults (14 and above) have Code 3 and children have Code 2. Anyway, I have a feeling that they are processing by receipt dates.

I read the news article about George Allen's comments about you ... and it makes me so angry! I am happy to see that you are not ashamed to let the world know that you have been a victim of racial discrimination, and that too from a politician. More power to you man!!!

I have no connection with politics, George Allen, Jim Webb or Sidarth. I just like the maverick attitude of Jim Webb.
The name calling has happened to me and has happened to my friends. I had never heard the name Macaca.
Every Indian in India has a Macaca like name. Based on this, I have no reason to complain about George Allen. I don't see why any Indian Indian should complain about it.
Name calling is not acceptable in America and Sidarth is an American citizen. So it is a problem in America specially if it is on camera.

If you are suggesting that this SS & Medicare fund will be kept by the hiring companies then I understand where you are coming from...Remember that most of the US companies have direct hires on H-1B and unless they have teamed up NASSCOM or Indian government, this treaty/agreement will be beneficial to the employees, not employers.

please help spread the word of my own fight. The CIR pretty much destroys my own hopes as I am already out of the system. If I get an interview I will support IV in general!
What I want is a clause giving temporary unrestricted (any employment) work visas specifically for parents of minor US citizens if those citizens where born during legal presence of the parent and if parent and citizen are separated because of divorce. That is NOTHING in numbers compared to the amnesty for illegals.
Right now it looks like to only remaining way to return to the US for me is another H1B if that still exists in the future, and then the merits. I will lose points for being too old then, and have to take the TOEFL again! Pathetic. No more GC lottery also. No nothing for having a child lost in divorce!

Not only will we be able to free ourselves from Consulting companies but also dramatically increase our income and perhaps also use part of the revenue to fund IV's GC objectives. Sort of like a hybrid Venture-Captial-incubator/co-op/lobby group. There must be a precendence somewhere....
Think about it. It's not impossible.
Now with more ppl in 485/EAD limbo there's a huge opportunity to do something like this. The only thing we need are trustworthy/reliable GC/citizens (perhaps ex-IVers?) to solve some minor "legal dillemas".

I did not go for new H1 stamp. My old stamp was expiring within 10 days of my travel. I was not sent for secondary inspection (I do nto work as consultant -- FTE in an American Company with less then 10% on H1).
Nothing unusual at PoE however, the officer seemed to be a little inexperienced. He told me that I should not have surrendered my new I-94 (the one that came with H1 extension) during exiting US. I know that is incorrect but did not argue with him.
No other problem at all. In fact, he did not do a full fingerprint for me (only thumb) but did that for my wife. When I asked , he said "my computer says so" :)
BTW, I was scrutinized a lot by the airlines (Jet) guys in India though they had no business. I told them since my Visa has 10 more days I am fine transiting through Heathrow.
Per my experience, there is no issue if you do not have any other problem (client letter, employee-employer relation etc)

Hi Gurus,
For USCIS prospective, does it matter if I file myself 2008 federal and state tax return online using Turbo tax/ TaxAct. If there is any RFE in future on pending I-485 for tax filing, Will USCIS accept online filed 1040 form?
I am thinking why to give around $250-300 to HR block � professional if I can file myself. Thanks

just called the USCIS customer service and got I-485 receipt number for both my and my wife.
case was refiled to NSC CRU supervisor on 10/11/2007. got receipt No today.

My MIL's extension of stay was denied in Apr 2008, while her actual I-94 expired in Jan.
I have done quite a bit of research on this one. I personally wrote letters to the American Consulate in Mumbai, the CBP officers in the US, and even talked to the POE officers at the port of entry where my MIL was planning on entering. All of them confirmed that one could come back after the denial provided he/she left within a reasonable amount of time after the denial. I specifically asked all of them about the applicability of 222 g, they assured me not to worry. American Consulate confirmed that my MIL's visa is still valid and is not revoked. My MIL left within hours of the denial email.
When I called up nearest POE, an officer looked up my MIL's immigration records and confirmed that as long as she pans on keeping her visits short, she is welcome to visit again without requiring another visa.
With email trail of my conversation with the CBP officers, and assurance from the POE officers, my MIL visited us here in the US last year, stayed with us for around 5 1/2 months and went back recently. She did not face any questions at the POE when she entered.
So, in general, it might be ok to come back after a denial of extension. I would call your intended POE and ask them if your parents/relatives could come back.
with recent happenings, I would avoid Newark though. ;-)

If USPS can not deliver the mail it is returned to the sender. Plus USPS does have a very good track record and very very very few mails get lost.
Most likely your mail had reached its destination.
I do think that filing the second package is a good idea. But for peace of mind you can do it.
Ask you lawyer about his opinion. Follow his advise. If he says its sent and no need to file again then I think you need to believe him and wait for the receipt notice.

Is it a good time to go to India for stamping ? I mean already the F1 to H4 petition is in pending status.

well i guess here in oklahoma were more simple than up there in new jersey as im sure most people here understand what i mean about a pickup up truck not only serving a purpose as a tool but also as a source of fun ie going out and just gettin it muddy. now please dont think im saying you should go out and get your leica muddy lol. seriously though dont think im talking bad about this particular camera cuz im deffinately not. i know that its an awsome camera. my only question is why dont more pros use leica brand cameras. the ones i see in magazines seem to be small relative to even the smallest slr camera. also the lens that they have mounted on them also seems small in size. Now this is only my opinion but my conclusion is that most feel they are to small in size to use in the studio and be taken seriously. please correct my assumption though if its wrong. I do see the value this camera would have for someone traveling and getting beutifull pictures without being cumbersome.
