Jennifer Lopez' third studio album is This Is Me... Then. This Is Me... Then is the third studio album (fourth overall). This Is Me... Then released in November 2002 by Epic Records. This Is Me... Then album debuted at #6 on the U.S. Billboard 200 selling 314,000 copies during its first week, remaining in the top twenty for 12 weeks and on the chart for 39 weeks. This Is Me... Then has sold 2.5 million copies in the United States and over 5 million copies worldwide.

This Is Me... Then album spawned four singles: the old school hip hop-influenced "Jenny from the Block" (featuring Styles P and Jadakiss), the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper "All I Have" (featuring LL Cool J), and the soul-tinged tracks "I'm Glad" and "Baby I Love U!". Jennifer Lopez's cover version of Carly Simon's 1978 song "You Belong to Me" was released in Brazil, where it appeared on the soundtrack to the telenovela Mulheres Apaixonadas, whereas "The One" was released to radio stations in Europe—charting at number forty-one on the Romanian Top 100 in mid-May 2003—and Brazil.

J.Lo is Jennifer Lopez' second studio album , J.Lo released in January 2001 by Epic Records. J.Lo album debuted at #1 on the United States Billboard 200 w/ 272,000 copies sold in its opening week, staying in the top 20 for six weeks, after the single "Love Don't Cost a Thing (song)" had reached number three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The 2nd single of J.Lo album, "Play (Jennifer Lopez song)", performed moderately but disappointingly, which led Lopez's team to bring in Ja Rule of The Inc. Records (then known as Murder Inc. Records) to create "Murder remixes" of "I'm Real (Jennifer Lopez song)" and "Ain't It Funny". These remixes, which are essentially different songs with the same title, both topped the Hot 100.

On July 24, 2001 (coinciding w/ Jennifer Lopez's 30-second birthday), the album was re-released with "I'm Real" (Murder Remix) as a bonus track—due to its usage of slurs such as "nigga", "btch", and "fck", the re-release came with a Parental Advisory sticker. The album was 1st released without the sticker, despite featuring strong language and sxual content ("I'm Real", "Play", "Come Over"), similarly to Janet Jackson's All for You (album).
